Akademische Rätin auf Zeit / Akademischer Rat auf Zeit

starting September 1, 2018
(A13 LBesG NRW)

Your Duties
• Collaboration and assistance on writing academic research grants and publications related to areas such as developing training programs to support learning transfer, fostering argumentation skills and learning strategies, or learning from instructional explanations. These publications can be integrated into your postdoctoral research/habilitation work.
• Developing your professional qualifications and further ground work towards your habilitation. 
• 4 academic teaching hours ("SWS") in the fields of teacher-training and Psychology as an academic major/minor.
• Advising and supervising students.
• Supporting the administration of the research group.

Your Profile
We expect
• A master‘s degree or equivalent (e.g., Diplom) in Psychology with an above-average grade such as at least 1.5 (German grading system), 3.4 GPA (American grading system), or first class honours (British grading system).
• A successfully (or soon-to-be) completed doctoral program in the field of Educational Psychology (magnacum laude or better).
• Solid knowledge of experimental research in learning and instruction.
• At least one publication in an international journal.
• Enthusiasm and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Salary will be paid according to remuneration level 13 of the LBesG NRW. As stipulated in § 44 Abs. 8 HG, the contract will end after three years. A further three-year extension is intended. The position is designed to encourage further academic qualification. In principle, this full-time position may be changed into a part-time position as long as it does not conflict with official needs. We offer the applicant excellent working conditions in a friendly team environment, flexible working times, free space, and committed support regarding his/her post-doctoral/habilitation phase as well as counseling with respect to his/her future academic career.
