posted 15 May 2017, 04:19 by ICO Education   [ updated 15 May 2017, 04:20 ]
On the 22nd of September, the annual PhD Day Groningen will be organized again by PhD students from the University of Groningen (RUG). This year’s event will be bigger than ever before. The PhD Day is THE event for PhD students to broaden their research and career perspectives. Every year it attracts hundreds of PhDs from different disciplines from all over the Netherlands, making it one of the biggest career events in the country.

This year’s theme is “Your Talent Matters!”, aiming to praise the idea that the talents of PhD students extend beyond writing a thesis. PhDs are challenged to further explore these talents and to use them in their future career inside or outside academia.

The day will be filled with talks and workshops, and will end with an optional dinner and drinks. The first confirmed speakers are Nobel Prize winner Prof. dr. Ben Feringa, University of Groningen Lecturer of the Year 2016 dr. Malvina Nissim, co-founder and CEO of Artificial Intelligence software company birds.ai Camiel Verschoor, philosopher dr. Menno de Bree, and prof. dr. Ingrid Molema, who is involved in the Talent Development program at the University of Groningen.

Spread the word to your fellow PhD students and be sure to sign up via www.phd-day.nl. Registration opens the 1st of June: full = full! See you in Groningen?
